This book measures 10 1/4" x 8 1/2" and
has 147 pages plus colophon. The text body is set in Scotch Roman printed on
Roycroft handmade water marked paper. The edition above is a variant of the
regular edition which was bound in paper over boards with a suede spine.
The binding on this book is a beautiful tooled and sculpted full Levant. I
have not seen another King Lear bound like this and believe it to be one of a
kind and all the more interesting in that the book is an unlimited edition. A special limited edition of 100 bound
in 3/4 or full Levant and printed on Japan vellum was also produced. The limited
edition is illumined, numbered and signed in Elbert Hubbard's name.
