King Lear
by William Shakespeare, 1904
This book measures 10 1/4" x 8 1/2" and
has 147 pages plus colophon. The text body is set in Scotch Roman and printed on
Roycroft handmade water marked paper. The regular edition above was bound in
paper over boards with a suede spine. The watermark shown
incorporates W. W. Denslow's trademark Sea Horse with the Roycroft cross and
orb. The other variants of this book include a special limited edition of 100

numbered and signed in Elbert Hubbard's name, an edition of 18 printed for The
Roycrofters Dramatic Club and a variant of the unlimited edition above with a
pigskin spine that is similar in style to the Miriam binding but it is not a
Miriam binding.
